Screaming at the top of the lungs...
I don’t think I have very good social skills, to be honest I feel a bit embarrassed when I have to deal with people, I always try my best not to bother people who provide some kind of service… even though I know that in the end that’s their job.
That’s precisely why I’m so disappointed with how things work in this country. Every time you go to do a procedure, it’s like you are going to curse out the individuals in the positions, they look at you with a face of sucking on a lemon that is indescribable… and God forbid you happen to ask something or not know something… and they have to spend their precious saliva sending you to another window… but well let’s say those are the hazards of the job and everyone has their cloudy days…
What really bothers me is that the formula to avoid kilometer-long lines, bureaucratic procedures, endless waits, among others, is to go and shout at the top of your lungs, threatening even to throw stones at the supervisor, saying that it’s outrageous, that you’re paying (I’ve even seen a man shove a previous bill in the face of a store employee!?!?) that they don’t respect you, or any insult that comes to mind… and there the people move.
Supposedly one of the engines that drives us Ticos is the need for approval… and I think that’s what makes the employees of any place run to appease a red-faced lady and prevent the matter from getting bigger… but what happens to people who are patient? who wait as long as possible as long as they are provided with service? special lines… elderly, pregnant women and angry people?!?!
