Impossible loves

Lately, I’ve been accompanied by stories about ghosts, ghosts of this world, those who walk beside us… those who bid us goodnight, those who see us from the other side of the mirror through our own eyes.

Many of us share the same ghosts that gnaw at our bones, many have the same name, but each one shows us a different face. A good “friend” of mine seems to have seen one of these common ghosts… he even wrote them a song… for impossible loves

And who doesn’t have an impossible love? One that never happened? One that was lost due to the cowardice of both? One that we didn’t believe was within our reach?… the one that when we cross paths with, our throat dries up and even saying hello becomes difficult… the one we want to see fat and ugly and hopefully with an ugly and hateful girlfriend.

Perhaps what scares us the most is not knowing what never was, knowing that life could be very different… not necessarily better but different… we would like a crystal ball to see all the possibilities… but the game is not like that, it’s not a chess game where we can predict the opponent’s next move.

Sometimes… the fairy tale doesn’t have a happy ending…

Poor Snow White, our prince prefers the stepmother, the villain of the story. He will be the apple where the poison sleeps.

But if you’ve noticed, fairy tales are short… life is enough for many attempts, a few broken hearts, a few ghosts in a chest, and in the end when the time comes… when we are ready, we can let go of the old ghost. When it no longer matters why it wasn’t… it doesn’t matter if the old love is fat or if the girlfriend looks like Demi Moore… when nothing can be better than what we have now… that’s when impossible loves are worth it… thanks to them, we ended up finding what was best in life.
