Giraffes and more giraffes
I think this post is going to be useful to illustrate two things. The first is already clear from previous entries… I like giraffes :P so the purpose of this post is to introduce the giraffes that have joined me on the adventure of life over the years :P.
The second thing that this post is going to illustrate is one of those weird things that people do (in this case me) that make us seem a little crazy (again, I am aware that I am the crazy one), but that we still like :$; since I was a child I had this crazy obsession with naming everything… my bike, every toy, every animal, everything. It seems that part of me didn’t grow up very well because I still name almost everything… so I will introduce you to my giraffes… with proper names and all :$
Without further ado, I present to you the giraffes:
The first one I want to talk about is Eugenia, she spends the most time with me …

because she’s my keychain, so she practically goes everywhere with me… she’s a big keychain but very useful, so I can find my keys faster, but she has a few identity problems… because… well… she doesn’t really look like a giraffe, because… she has a short neck :( , so people have told her that she looks like: a horse, a zebra, a two-horned unicorn!!! (see, I’m not the craziest one), a coffee cake, a tablecloth, a mat, and well those are just the ones I remember, you be the judge, but believe me, she’s a giraffe. As you may have already noticed, she owes her name to a song by Alejandro Filio:
🎶 Eugenia, dilubio de estrellas Eugenia, de un paso a tu huella quien puede llegar. 🎶

Since we’re talking about personality problems, I think the next one would be Gaby, because she’s exactly like Eugenia, only bigger, she could be the mom if you like :P, she arrived in a box on a Saturday morning, for no special occasion, she had a tag with her name, so this time there’s no song, she lives on top of my monitor, always spying on everything I do. :P.

Then there’s Krampet, she or he… I’m not sure… she already had a name when I got her, she came wrapped in a pretty box and they left her in my locker :D I remember that those days I was feeling a little down, Krampet was a nice surprise.
There’s also Matilde at first I thought of naming her Mafalda, I don’t remember why, but then I changed it so I could sing to her:
🎶Matilde mi vida, Matilde mi estrella, le dijo que si nos casamos Antoine y bailó para ella.🎶

It was a Christmas gift that I received on my birthday, very cute I must say :D
Then we have three male giraffes :P, a birthday gift, on a very good birthday and I know they were hard to find, these are Hugo, Paco and Luis, they live on my desk at home, very cute too… and I think they are the only male giraffes I have :D.

Well now that I remember I also have Melman from Madagascar… oops! and Mr. Giraffe :P who is Mrs. Giraffe’s husband, I almost forgot… they are the only giraffes I had when I moved to live in San José.

Then there’s Indira, well… the story is this: I went to one of my professor’s office because “someone” told me that there was a very pretty giraffe there… so there was no alternative.. I had to tell the professor that I had several giraffes and that he should give me that one so she wouldn’t feel lonely… so he finally gave her to me, then he got one just like Indira… so Indira has a twin sister who lives in an office at ECCI.

So I think we have come to Rosalia, this is the newest one I have, a beautiful and original gift, she’s a giraffe with tennis shoes :D :D :D, because giraffes are great runners :D :D :D, she also has a very cute face, she looks like a very happy giraffe, singing:
🎶Y así me paso la vida ay, Rosalía como lucero en ventana ay, Rosalía🎶
Mmmm and there’s also Rocío
🎶Ay!

A Christmas gift :D, but she lives in Naranjo, :D because my mom wanted her to stay there, she says that when she sees Rocío she remembers me, so she has a house far from the city… she’s a wild giraffe :P

Then we have come to this beautiful giraffe, I like her very much, she’s tall, elegant, delicate, she reminds me why I like giraffes, she’s simply beautiful… her name is Frida:
🎶a Frida le duelen los huesos y mirándose al espejo pinta todo su dolor a Frida le duele la vida y aprendiendo de su herida llena todo de color🎶
We thought of naming the giraffe Frida after Frida Kahlo because the giraffe has a fissure in one leg, and Frida broke her right leg several times, then I remembered the song that is also about Frida Kahlo, and the name sounded perfect.
Finally, I can’t finish this post without mentioning this little giraffe…

I really like her, she was part of a campaign for the tenth anniversary of the Children’s Museum (she had a name but I don’t remember), they were everywhere at bus stops, I wanted one of those posters… I never got it… but on a visit to the theater (in those days it was the Fanal theater) I found a postcard with the giraffe, I was quite happy and I think it’s because of this giraffe that many people know that I like giraffes.
I think the best way to end the post is to thank everyone who has remembered that I like giraffes and has given me these giraffes and many others in pictures, pencils, wallpapers, etc. Thank you! :)
