Fear? to what?
English
To heights To needles To darkness To spiders To death (of oneself or others) To failure To loneliness To tumults To people To tremors To horror movies To mom To lack of freedom To scorpions To rats To cats To secrets To being foolish (or looking like it) To knowing too much To dreams (or nightmares) To gaining weight To getting sick To babies To blood (yes, that’s mine) :P To lightning To growing up To growing old To forgetting To remembering too much To murderers To fire To suffering To pain To impotence
If I continue with the list, it would probably become the longest post (at least in my blog :P), but the thing is that I don’t know about you, but sometimes I feel like we are this bundle of paralyzing fears that doesn’t let us live in peace… as my good friend Pedro Guerra says, “Fear that is afraid of the fear it causes…”
But well, one of these days when I was on an adventure (despite my fear of heights and especially of an accident and the consequent pain :P), one of the adventurers said that he was terribly afraid of heights but that every time he was up there, about to jump into the void, he told himself that he just had to do it, he had no other option (a lot of mental power because he was totally relaxed and I was still white and about to faint :P)
And then I started thinking about that bundle of nerves we carry through life (obviously hiding it from others) and well, this dude is somewhat right… every day we have to get up, accept our fears, and face them… even if we have to squeeze our stomachs and close our eyes :P
